Hi everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the kick off to Fall. With only three months left of 2015, it's around this time that I tend to reflect on all that God has blessed me w/ this year, the lessons learned & where He wants me to go next. You hear me mention this often but, I hope that all of you check out 'Storyline Conference' hosted by Donald Miller. You leave this three day conference -November 5th-7th- with a specific & detailed life plan. And I am eager to get to work creating this new chapter in my story. What are a few of the most memorable & motivating lessons you have learned this year? I have learned so much but the following 3 lessons were the standouts: 1). Eating primarily organic whole foods without refined sugars is a game changer. I have learned so much more about health this year then I ever could have possibly anticipated. I had the absolute privilege of meeting & interviewing some of the top wellness leaders in the entire country: Dr. Marc Bubbs, Mark Sisson, Doc Parsley and Dr. Daniel Kalish. 2). Wading through discomfort w/ God's help. I'm evolving as a person alongside of the most integrity filled community at Park Community Church. Growing & creating new habits has all required an enormous amount of discomfort, discipline & grace from Him. 3). If there is one person who was the biggest influence on me in 2015, it was Donald Miller, Author of Scary Close and 'Creator' of Storyline Conference. I have recently learned from him how to fully let go of relationships that weren't entirely safe - how to let go of my own mistakes/regrets and accept God's gift of grace -how to step into my best self - how to let go of old patterns that weren't serving me or my relationships well - and how to embrace my entire story that God is telling w/ my life. Also, Donald Miller highly recommended the book 'Safe People' in an excerpt from Scary Close. I read it about a week ago and all I thought was 'Why didn't I read this a long time ago'? This book is a must read. What are some highlights of your 2015? Please share! Enjoy this short but delicious season! And try to get outdoors as much as you can in Chicago before the chill sets in!!
